Hotel Danmark in Jomtien
By Gloria Jones
Last year was quite a year for Hotel Danmark. Our cover story for June 2018.The hotel has gone from strength to strength and is no longer just a hidden treasure but now a well known venue for golf clubs and The Danish Club who hold their once monthly meetings there.
In fact whilst 2018 proved for many to be a disappointing low season and an even more worrying a slow start to the high season, Hotel Danmark’s business has just been getting better and better.
This is in no small part down to Kent and his team who have kept the now famous 190 baht all you can eat breakfast, and daily specials of 220 baht up to the high standards that you would expect from a food and beverage professional. Also they have looked to where improvements could still be made and opened up a whole new dining area which is especially good for the breakfast buffet allowing customers easier access to the food and releasing yet more space for more seating.
As you can see there is now ample room for large groups to meet in comfort and with plenty of fans throughout the entire dining area inside and out you will always feel comfortable eating and meeting there.
I personally love the breakfast buffet at Hotel Danmark although I usually wait until the weekend as there is so much to tempt me I can sometimes need a “mini siesta” after! Highlights for me are the eggs served to order and amazing bacon (of course) cooked to perfection. I am also a lover of cheese so to find a plentiful supply of Danish blue amongst the cold cuts is a rare treat. Sausage, potatoes and a Thai option are always available as are fruits, cereals and desserts. Various tea options as well as fresh brewed coffee are available for as many refills as you can manage – and I can manage quite a few ! Also the bread is great – they even have bake their own. Then if you miss chocolate spread or Peanut Butter as it is no longer something you keep yourself at home, don’t worry you can treat yourself to these when you go to Hotel Danmark.
