We’re more often than not in such a rush that we forget to go look for somewhere to relax and spend time. I noticed this when driving down the newly renovated Sukhumvit stretch from Pattaya into Na Jomtien. The overpasses have really eased congestion around turnings, and meant there are fewer U turn spots to snarl up the traffic. However, the result of this is that we drive along this concrete stretch on our route from A to B without really taking in what’s on the way.
For example, just next to the turning for the Mason Hotel is the unprepossessing entrance to Pattaya Paradise Beach Resort. It once had a charming garden but all the road construction soon put paid to that. So now the entrance does not really give a clue as to the delights you will find when you drive down towards the sea and to the resort proper.
